COME ALONG, MY FRIEND...

You are about to be introduced to a mother, a Christian and an entrepreneur. She was illiterate but she climbed a mountain like no other. Somehow, some what she knew she would make it. She went two or four times a week at the Charleston City Market to sell produce for fer father. She has a way with people. She knew how to talk to and entice anyone into buying the produce. The small farmers of James Island started asking her to sell for them instead of them coming to the Market and selling for themselves. And that is when her legacy began in 1954.
